NO EXHAUSTION

Every workout shouldn’t leave you on the floor. Good training means being intentional about when you give 100% max effort—so you are fresh enough to perform when it matters most. 

 

REST & RECOVERY 

Volt not only builds scientific rest intervals into every workout, but also encourages enough days off and recovery modalities (like foam rolling) to help you maximize your gains. 

 

NSCA-CERTIFIED TRAINING

Our programs are designed by Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA). Meaning they have completed an Exercise Science degree, are highly skilled in exercise techniques, as well as nutrition and injury prevention.

WHAT IS PERIODIZATION?

In the app, you will see your progression through your periodized training with the phases listed below:

HYPERTROPHY Build lean muscle mass while increasing your brain-to-muscle efficiency. It helps train your brain and your body to build strength down the road. It also improves overall durability—keeps you from overtraining so you can crush more workouts.
2
STRENGTH CAPACITY Maintain good technique as weights (loads) get heavier. You continue building lean muscle during this phase. This enables you to still produce force as fatigue sets in. You also experience strength gains during this phase!

STRENGTH Improve “near-maximal force production,” lifting heavier loads with a lower number of reps. This also prioritizes taking rest periods between sets for optimal recovery, so you shouldn’t feel 100% exhausted by the end of the sessions.
4
UNLOAD Avoid burnout—you cannot train at 100% intensity without eventually burning out. These periods reduce loads and volume to allow your body to recover to prevent overtraining.
