Seahawks and Volt Athletics collaborate for Second Annual Strength Training Donation to Local High Schools

Renton, September 28, 2017 — The Seattle Seahawks and Volt Athletics (Volt) will donate professionally built strength and conditioning programs to three Washington State high school football programs, delivered through Volt’s intelligent training app. The three schools, chosen in collaboration with the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA), are Ingraham High School (Seattle), Foster High School (Tukwila), and Stadium High School (Tacoma).

Building on the legacy of last year’s inaugural donation, the first of its kind by any major professional sports franchise, this year’s partnership reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to the health and safety of young athletes. Using Volt’s technology, football players at these three high schools will have the opportunity to access safe and effective workout plans, which will help them build strength and reduce their risk of injury.

“It’s all about building a safer game for all players,” says Seahawks VP Community Outreach Mike Flood. “The Seahawks are dedicated to helping young athletes get access to the right training resources. Our continued partnership with Volt is a great step toward this goal, and helps provide local coaches and athletes the opportunity to train properly and safely.”

The training, built by certified industry experts and trusted by over 100,000 coaches and athletes around the country, is a comprehensive and intelligent strength and conditioning technology scientifically designed to develop strength, muscle mass, and explosiveness, helping the players stay safe on the field. Volt training is also utilized by USA Football and the U.S. National Team programs.

“Being selected by the Seahawks to receive Volt is a big deal for our team,” says Coach Elijah Ruhl, Head Football Coach at Foster High School in Tukwila. “We want what’s best for our athletes. The kids love the training, and it’s great for us coaches because we’re able to provide our athletes with high-quality training focused on long-term development.”

Volt’s technology personalizes each athlete’s program based on their age, training experience, position, and goals. Based on this information, Volt builds a custom training plan that is personalized to each athlete, prescribing unique workouts as part of a long-term approach to physical development. Each training session is accessible via mobile app, and comes complete with resources designed to help athletes execute the workouts safely and effectively—specific instructions, sets, reps, weights, and visual cues, including movement technique demonstrations and coaching tips. As the athlete completes each set, Volt dynamically adjusts and optimizes the training so that athletes continue to see results.

“The Seahawks continue to take a proactive approach in developing the next generation of youth and high school football players, and we’re proud to play a part,” says Dan Giuliani, Co-Founder and CEO of Volt Athletics. “We’re excited that we’re able to give back to the local Seattle area, and leverage our technology to provide safe and effective training.”
